Traffic Action Group
News from the Little Rissington Traffic Action Group
This group is now established as an advisory committee to the Parish Council
What we have been doing
Overweight lorries are reported to VOSA and to the companies concerned directly. Please do continue to send us details of lorries. Ideally this should be Registration No, Company name, time and date and direction of travel but part details are still useful.
Many incidents of speeding and dangerous driving have been reported. Two involving near misses of children have been reported to the police. The others have been recorded as evidence and used in letters to companies and will be used as evidence for the need for traffic calming measures.
As a result, a new 20mph zone throughout the village was put in place, effective from 18th April 2016. This replaces the existing 30mph limit zone which has also been extended at each end of the village. Please help by adhering to the new speed limits: these are legally enforceable and the local police will be undertaking speed checks, especially in the early days of operation to raise awareness.
